Kindness Gideon began in 2020 with Kindystitches, where she developed her craft through years of hands-on garment construction, creating for clients, experimenting with fabrics and silhouettes, and sharing her creative process and sewing knowledge with a growing online community.
What began as a personal creative journey gradually became something much bigger. Through years of making, learning and experimenting, Kindness developed a deeper understanding of the kind of designer she wanted to become, one whose work could carry her cultural identity while still feeling modern, expressive and distinctly her own.

The Evolution
That evolution opened a new chapter: THE BLACK COCO. Rooted in Black African culture and expressed through contemporary fashion, THE BLACKCOCO brings together Kindness’s love for her roots, her passion for design and her belief that clothing can be a powerful form of self-expression. Her work draws inspiration from African textiles, forms, stories and cultural references, while allowing room for modern silhouettes, experimentation and individuality. Kindness designs for the woman who does not dress to disappear into the crowd. She is bold enough to be seen, ambitious enough to dream beyond where she started, and confident enough to express herself without apology. She carries where she comes from with pride, but she is not limited by it. For Kindness, fashion is a language — one that can be uniquely translated by the woman wearing it. She believes you should be able to dress not only for how you look, but for what you want to be heard. THE BLACK COCO is the latest chapter in Kindness Gideon’s journey — built from the experience, creativity and lessons gathered since 2020, while opening the door to where her work is going.
